In mid-March, OPT participated in two prestigious exhibitions in the machine vision inspection industry: AW Korea Vision and Germany LogiMAT. At both shows, OPT showcased its state-of-the-art machine vision inspection technologies, underscoring the company's dedication to innovation and leadership in the field. These showcases not only highlighted OPT's advanced solutions but also reinforced its commitment to driving technological advancements and excellence in the industry.

AW Korea Vision Exhibition

At Asia's Leading Smart Factory & Automation Show, OPT, in collaboration with FAS Automation, showcased key LED lighting inspection technologies, including Photometric Stereo for Braille Recognition on Cards and Programmable Pattern LED Lighting, as well as the Lithium Battery Electrode Sheet Die-cutting Inspection Solution of the Application of Time-Division Strobe Technology - Inspection of Polarizer Appearance.

  • Photometric Stereo
Photometric stereo technology reconstructs surface normals and calculates reflectance at different points. Unlike traditional methods (e.g., stereo matching), it avoids image matching challenges. The process requires only three or more images of the object under different lighting directions. Since both the object and camera remain stationary, the images are naturally aligned, making the reconstruction simpler and more efficient.

  • Programmable Pattern LED Lighting
Programmable Pattern LED Lighting uses striped light patterns with a specific periodicity, which are projected onto the object. This creates diffuse reflections on the surface, enhancing sensitivity to specular reflection characteristics—a phenomenon known as light deflection.

  • Time-Division Strobe Technology - Inspection of Polarizer Appearance
The integrated controller features an internal I/O module that processes signals, enabling various light sources to flash sequentially at high speed. It supports multiple line-scan cameras and uses a programmable trigger function to synchronize the light source and camera flash. The system offers up to 16 frequency divisions.

With high-speed frequency division technology and an image extraction algorithm, the controller ensures precise signal processing and fast response. This reduces equipment space and costs. A single scan captures the effects of multiple light sources, boosting detection efficiency at one station. It covers a wide range of defects with multi-directional lighting, reduces the number of stations needed, and lowers hardware expenses.

Germany LogiMAT Exhibition
